About Me

Patricia Scherer, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist PSY36353

I’m licensed to provide psychological services in the state of California. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited program at Palo Alto University and completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship, which provided specialized training in child, adolescent, and family psychology.

Across my clinical training, I’ve worked with racially, culturally, and diagnostically diverse adolescents and adults navigating trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I have also worked extensively with children and families, supporting them in understanding and managing big feelings and developing skills to cope with life’s stressors. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and holistic, focusing on the whole person and taking into account your unique values, experiences, and needs.

In addition to psychotherapy, I specialize in neuropsychological assessment aimed at clarifying complex diagnoses, guiding treatment planning, and supporting academic accommodations. I have experience evaluating neurodevelopmental conditions such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), mood and anxiety disorders, and psychotic spectrum disorders in both youth and adults. My approach to assessment is collaborative and strengths-based. I aim to make the assessment process empowering, validating, and oriented toward meaningful next steps.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with loved ones, including my cat.
